Mr. Sze Ka Lun, Founding President of Macau Low Carbon Development Association (MLCDA), said that there is already a solid foundation for the green MICE industry in Macau, and it is hoped that through the green transformation of the MICE industry and in line with the international development trend, we can attract the attention of the international community and facilitate the hosting of more international major MICE events in Macau, so as to comprehensively enhance the overall quality of the MICE industry and its competitiveness in the international arena. Green development is one of the core elements of the new development concept, which requires the participation of all people, sectors and industries. It is hoped that the green and carbon-neutral MICE will be the starting point for all sectors to participate in the event. It is believed that with everyone's contribution, Macao can become a green and low-carbon demonstration area of the country.
The Organizer expects to promote advanced carbon reduction experiences and cutting-edge methodologies and technologies in different regions through the event, so that more organizations and enterprises will understand the significance of carbon-neutral conventions and exhibitions in addressing climate change, complying with laws and regulations, enhancing corporate image, meeting market demands, reducing costs and promoting the high-quality development of the convention and exhibition industry in Macao. It is hoped that under the guidance of the Macao SAR Government, a comprehensive green transformation of the convention and exhibition industry will be realized, and the catalytic role of the industry will be brought into full play, deepening the linkage of MICE+Low Carbon+Industry, and facilitating the upgrading of various industries to a green and sustainable mode of development.
