The "Global Exhibition Day" was held in the afternoon of June 7 at the Sino-Portuguese Complex. Leaders from the Macao exhibition industry as well as the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (the Liaison Office), the Trade Promotion Council (TPC), the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO), the Economic Affairs Bureau of the Deep Co-operation Zone (DCD) and other government departments were present at the celebration.
Mr. Wong Wai Lun, Acting President of HKTDC, and Mr. Michael Duck, President of UFI International Exhibition Association delivered speeches online, while Mr. Lam Chung Yin, representative of Macao's convention and exhibition industry and President of Macao Exhibition and Trade Association, delivered a speech. Mr. Lam said that the Global Exhibition Day is a global event, which is dedicated to uniting the strength of the global exhibition industry, promoting exchanges and cooperation in the industry, as well as promoting the development of the industry and the economic and social benefits of the region.
The Global Exhibition Day covers a wide range of thematic projects in different fields, including science and technology, education and training, brand promotion, low carbon and environmental protection, cultural communication, etc. Each of these projects is a masterpiece of the convention and exhibition industry, and through the platform of Macao Convention and Exhibition, it will help colleagues in the industry to build a stronger foundation, explore the future competitiveness of enterprises, and further expand business opportunities. During the period, the Macao Trade Promotion Institute and the Economic Development Bureau of Hengqin-Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone jointly launched the new brand logo of "One Convention, Two Places", and the Macao Trade & Exhibition Association and the Boya College of the Macao University of Science and Technology signed the "Exchange and Cooperation Agreement between the Macao University of Science and Technology and the Macao Trade & Exhibition Association", MICE signed a cooperation agreement on "Hong Kong-Macau Cooperation in Promoting Diversified Joint Development" with the Federation of Hong Kong Industries and Commerce, and a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between MICE (Macau Convention and Exhibition Industry Association) and Boway Intelligent Technology Limited. In addition, MICE presented certificates to the finalists of the "2023 Macau Tertiary Institutions Student Conference Event Planning Competition", and the Association of Advertisers presented certificates of Promotional Ambassadors to the participants of the "Stars of Tomorrow" advertising planning training program.
In addition, the officiating guests launched the MICE Low Carbon Action Program. In order to promote "Carbon Neutral Green MICE in Macau", 2 tons of carbon credits were purchased for the event, which means that the organizer has "eliminated" the carbon emissions of the event for the attendees.
